Vladivostok, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) — Modern humanitarian cooperation in the SCO lays the foundation for long-term ties between peoples, Marina Dmitrieva, deputy director of the Far Eastern Federal University's Institute of Oriental Studies for Science and Innovation, said in an interview with Xinhua. She also believes that this cooperation is "Bridges of the Future."

According to her, since its creation, the SCO has been building a sustainable humanitarian architecture between member countries. Educational cooperation within the framework of university exchanges and joint scientific programs is especially important. Its distinctive feature is pragmatism and long-term orientation, in particular, network universities are being created, for example, the SCO University, double degree programs are being developed, and academic mobility is being strengthened. “This is not just a cultural exchange, but an investment in human capital, which will strengthen mutual understanding between member countries,” she noted.

According to the expert, humanitarian cooperation is not a secondary sphere, but the key to the sustainability of relations in the long term. It is here that mutual respect, identity, the conjugation of historical memory and the image of the future are formed. Universities, scientific communities, youth initiatives are able to offer the world not another geopolitical formula, but a civilizational project based on culture, education, and dialogue.

"The SCO member countries have established regular meetings at the level of heads of the ministries of culture and education, annual art festivals and other cultural and humanitarian events. This mechanism, along with similar interactions in other areas of cooperation, helps to gather the vast space of the SCO into a single complex of trust and development," she added. –0–
