The permanent exhibition of works by students of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Transport studying in the direction of "Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials" (THOM) has been updated in the research building of Technopolis Polytech.
The exhibition presents diploma works made using various artistic and technological methods – from casting and laser cutting to etching and enamel. The students used bronze, brass, steel as materials, and forging, lost-wax and burnt-out casting, chasing and polishing as technologies.
This year, special attention is paid to experimental techniques that combine traditional craft approaches and modern digital technologies. The exhibition includes a collection of jewelry, decorative panels created using precision laser cutting with subsequent manual finishing, and table sculptures. This synthesis of technologies and materials gives the authors the opportunity to go beyond the usual solutions and form a new language of artistic metal.
The exhibition shows how an idea arises, how models are created, how the material lends itself to artistic transformation. The head of the TKhOM program, Viktor Shevchuk, believes that the direction is actively developing, and the exhibition will be regularly updated and updated.
