BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu said Friday that China is willing to work with the United States to find the right path for coexistence between the two major powers in the new era.
Speaking at a press conference, the vice-minister of China's foreign policy department stressed that China is ready to interact with the United States of America on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation, but at the same time firmly defending its national sovereignty, security and development interests.
He also stressed that attempts to put pressure on China will not succeed, and any efforts aimed at curbing China's development or hindering the revival of the Chinese nation are doomed to failure.
“We are ready to move towards the American side, implement the important consensus reached by the heads of the two states, maintain contacts, manage differences, expand cooperation and continue to search for the right paths of coexistence in the new era,” he summed up. -0-
