BISHKEK, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) — A ceremony to present jubilee medals in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was held at the Kyrgyz Defense Ministry on Thursday. The event was attended by representatives of the Defense Ministry, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan, employees of the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan and others.
Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Liu Jiangping highly appreciated the significant contribution made by veterans from Kyrgyzstan to the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. She said that the Chinese people will always cherish the deep friendship between the peoples of the two countries established during the war. China is ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to protect the results of the victory in World War II and make joint contributions to world peace and development.
Representatives of the Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for its care and attention, noting that the bright history of the joint struggle against fascism is an eternal symbol of the brotherhood of the two countries and will give an inexhaustible impetus to their friendship, passed down from generation to generation.
At the event, commemorative medals were presented to four veterans who participated in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
