WARSAW, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — A Polish F-16 fighter jet crashed on Thursday during a rehearsal for a performance at the Radom International Air Show, killing the pilot, Polish government spokesman Adam Szlapka said.
The plane crash occurred in the afternoon. The fighter jet began to descend, after which it hit the runway and exploded. A. Shlapka confirmed on social media that the pilot did not survive. The cause of the incident is still unknown.
The international air show will take place from 30 to 31 August in the city of Radom in central Poland. More than 150 aircraft from 20 countries will take part in the event. It is one of the largest events of its kind in Poland. –0–
