SHENYANG, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — China on Thursday released a ranking of the top 500 non-state-owned enterprises in China, with e-commerce giant JD.com topping the list, reflecting the robust development of the country's non-state-owned economy.

The list, compiled by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFI), was released at the 2025 Summit of the Top 500 Non-State Enterprises in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.

JD.com, Alibaba /China/ Co., Ltd. and Hengli Group Co., Ltd. retained their places on the ranking podium – first, second and third, respectively – for the fourth year in a row.

This is the 27th survey conducted by the WFPT among large non-state-owned enterprises in China. A total of 6,379 companies were surveyed, each of which had annual revenues of over 1 billion yuan (about 140.72 million US dollars) as of the end of 2024. The ranking was compiled based on their operating income data.

According to the survey, in 2024, the threshold conditions for entering the top 500 non-state-owned enterprises in terms of revenue was 27.023 billion yuan, and the total operating income of eligible enterprises reached 43.05 trillion yuan, reflecting the steady growth of the overall scale.

Among them, JD.com reported full-year operating revenue of about 1.16 trillion yuan last year, becoming the first non-state-owned company in China to exceed 1 trillion yuan in operating revenue.

The performance of the top 500 enterprises continues to improve, with 361 companies reporting year-on-year revenue growth last year. Their combined net profit reached 1.8 trillion yuan, or about 3.6 billion yuan per enterprise on average, up 6.48 percent from 2023. -0-
