The capital will celebrate its 878th birthday on September 13 and 14. At a meeting of the Presidium of the Moscow Government, the issue of the program for celebrating City Day was considered. Following the discussion, Sergei Sobyanin approved the plan for the main celebrations, which includes 138 events: concerts, contests, sports competitions, festivals, master classes for children and adults.
Traditionally, they will be held at venues in the city center and other administrative districts, in parks and cultural institutions. In particular, on September 13 and 14, there will be festive concerts on Poklonnaya Gora, in which popular artists and creative groups will take part. On the first day of the celebration, guests will enjoy a concert by artists from Dorognoye Radio and its broadcast on the Zvezda TV channel. On the second day, there will be a patriotic festival, Music of the Proud, dedicated to the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. The initiator of the event is the Nikolay Rastorguev Foundation for the Support of Social and Cultural Initiatives.
VDNKh invites you to an entertainment program near the Druzhba Narodov fountain. There will be five platforms with screens and art objects, where musical, literary and poetic performances will take place, as well as the Rings of Moscow show with special effects.

This year, more than 20 events are planned, including a technology fair, a robot battle, and master classes.
For families with children, special programs are planned at the Northern and Southern River Terminals. They include concerts, sports events, film screenings in an open-air cinema, master classes, and refreshments for young city residents.
On September 13 and 14, the Moskino Cinema Park invites you to the musical concert "And I Walk, Walk Through Moscow" with the participation of famous artists. More than 20 famous performers will sing songs about their beloved capital. A rich interactive program with master classes, scientific and educational sections, a bell show, a craft fair, unusual photo zones, autograph sessions and other events has also been prepared for guests.
In addition, on City Day, visitors to the Moskino cinema park will see circus tent shows, admission to which will be free. And the best circus artists of Russia will perform in Izmailovsky Park and the Yuzhnoye Butovo landscape park.
The N.E. Bauman Garden will host screenings of the films "I Walk the Streets of Moscow" and "A Girl Without an Address", as well as a theatrical program of the Moscow Musical Theater for Children and Youth "On Basmannaya". Guests will be able to visit a retro studio, a master class in artistic graphics, and a chamber concert.
In total, events dedicated to the celebration of City Day will be held in 20 capital parks. Guests will enjoy live music concerts, a paired sports relay race "We are together", a children's program with bright animators, creative master classes and educational quizzes. As part of the immersive programs, you can become a participant in events from the history of Moscow.
