Moscow, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) — The heads of the Russian and Ukrainian negotiating teams are in contact, but there are no new dates for the next round of talks yet, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on Wednesday.

According to him, Russia remains committed to resolving the conflict in Ukraine through diplomatic means, but this requires reciprocity from the Ukrainian side.

The Kremlin spokesman stressed that Russia highly appreciates the peacekeeping efforts of US President Donald Trump to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.

“We highly value and also hope that peacekeeping efforts and mediation efforts on the part of the President of the United States will continue,” said D. Peskov. –0–
