BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) — A joint exhibition of cultural heritage sites from museum collections of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states opened in Beijing on Wednesday.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, will be held at the National Museum of China until November 16.
The exhibition, which is dedicated to respect for the diversity of civilizations and the desire for common development, presents 220 valuable cultural relics from 10 museums in the SCO countries.
In particular, the exhibition presents iconic artifacts that reflect the emergence, development and evolution of ancient civilizations, as well as representative cultural monuments that testify to historical exchanges and interactions between different countries.
According to Wang Zhiqiang, a researcher at the National Museum of China and the curator of the exhibition, these relics not only reflect the rich cultural heritage of the SCO countries, but also demonstrate the historical process of cultural dialogue, mutual learning and influence through the ancient Silk Road. –0–
