Vladivostok, August 27 /Xinhua/ — An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred off the eastern coast of Kamchatka, RIA Novosti reported on Wednesday, citing data from the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The earthquake was recorded on Wednesday at 15:49 Kamchatka time /06:49 Moscow time/ with coordinates: 50.6511 north latitude, 157.6915 east longitude. The epicenter of the tremors was located 276 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The epicenter was located at a depth of 66.8 kilometers.
According to the report, in populated areas of the Kamchatka Territory, tremors with an intensity of up to 3 points were felt.
