BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) — The 5th China-Mongolia Expo opened in Hohhot, capital of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on Monday, silkroad.news.cn reported.

The four-day expo, titled “Deepening Mutual Cooperation, Promoting Win-Win,” brought together more than 1,500 Chinese and foreign enterprises. The expo, first hosted by the Chinese and Mongolian governments in 2015, is open to participants from all over the world.

Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong said in his speech that against the backdrop of the stable and healthy development of the China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership in recent years, the volume of bilateral trade has continuously expanded, China's investment in Mongolia has continued to grow, while practical cooperation between the two countries has been solidly advanced, which fully demonstrated the catalytic role of economic and trade cooperation in bilateral relations.

"The China-Mongolia Expo, based on bilateral cooperation, focuses on Northeast Asia and the countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. Every year, it welcomes more and more countries and participants, playing an important role in promoting regional trade and economic cooperation," Yan Dong noted.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Tumur-Uyaa Jambaltseren, in turn, said that the China-Mongolia Expo has become an important international exhibition for strengthening economic, trade, industrial and cultural cooperation between the two countries, calling it an important platform for the governments and enterprises of the two countries to communicate, find business opportunities, conduct practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
