NEW DELHI, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — At least 11 people have been killed and two others are missing after heavy rains lashed parts of India's western Rajasthan state in the past 48 hours, authorities said on Monday.
They said five days of heavy rain had caused flash floods, inundating homes and roads, cutting off dozens of villages from major cities and severely damaging the transport system.
The local administration made every effort to provide supplies and assistance to the thousands of victims.
Several hundred people have been safely evacuated so far. –0–
