SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — Korean Air said Tuesday it will purchase 103 next-generation aircraft from Boeing, 19 spare engines from GE Aerospace and CFM International, and a comprehensive engine maintenance program from GE Aerospace.

The total purchases will be worth approximately US$50 billion, including US$36.2 billion for Boeing aircraft and US$13.7 billion for spare engines and a 20-year engine maintenance contract, Korean Air said in a statement.

The signing ceremony took place in Washington following a meeting between South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and US President Donald Trump.

The deal is the largest in the airline's history. The aircraft will be delivered in stages until the end of 2030. –0–
