Astana, Aug. 26 /Xinhua/ — The government of Kazakhstan forecasts the country's economic growth at 5.4 percent and inflation no higher than 10 percent in 2026, Kazinform reported on Tuesday, citing a meeting of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin presented the basic forecast for socio-economic development for 2026-2028. According to the forecast, average annual GDP growth over the three-year period is expected to be at 5.3 percent. Nominal GDP should increase from 183.8 trillion tenge in 2026 to 229.8 trillion tenge in 2028.
The inflation forecast envisages its level in 2026 not exceeding 10 percent, and in 2027-2028 — about 6 percent. S. Zhumangarin noted that economic growth will be ensured by the development of the real sector and the service sector. In the manufacturing industry, the growth rate may accelerate from 6.2 percent in 2026 to 6.6 percent in 2028, in agriculture growth is expected by 3.9 percent, in construction — by 11 percent, in transport — by 10.1 percent, and in trade — by 6.7 percent.
Kazakhstan's exports are projected to increase from $77.1 billion in 2026 to $83.7 billion in 2028, while imports are projected to increase from $67.7 billion to $75.2 billion. –0–
