Architects and construction industry experts visited one of the capital's renovated schools. They assessed how the educational space had been transformed and noted the program's features "My school". This was reported by the press service of the capital Department of Education and Science.

The tour was attended by the head of conceptual design of the Asadov architectural bureau Valentin Shkuro, the head of the UB Design architectural studio Boris Uborevich-Borovsky, the head of the Studio 911 model workshop Viktor Krylov, the head of the AFA landscape and construction bureau Sergey Tatarinov and the chief architect of the organization Ksenia Golovanova. The specialists saw how the large-scale reconstruction transformed School No. 460 named after twice Heroes of the Soviet Union A.A. Golovachev and S.F. Shutov.

The school building has been completely renovated — from the facade to the classrooms. Instead of the usual corridors, spacious recreation areas with soft sofas, bright poufs and comfortable windowsill seats have appeared. These spaces are not only for relaxation — here you can prepare for lessons, hold extracurricular activities or parent-teacher meetings.

The school canteen has been transformed into a dining hall resembling a trendy café, and the traditional library has been replaced by a modern media library with comfortable spaces for reading, group work and individual work.

Particular attention was paid to classrooms. New equipment was installed in them for studying natural sciences, robotics, programming and other scientific disciplines.

A modern gym with a safe surface and new exercise machines is provided for physical education classes. Sports grounds for basketball, volleyball and mini-football, as well as for passing the standards of the "Ready for Labor and Defense" complex, have appeared on the school grounds. In addition, there are play areas and rest areas with comfortable benches.

"This is a typical project that architects made in the 1960s and 1970s. I liked that the building was easily transformed into a modern space. They removed unnecessary ceilings, made more glass doors. They change the space: it becomes light, open, democratic. If earlier there was no such thing as design, architects thought mainly about engineering, then here the designer's potential was revealed. They selected colors, materials, furniture, lighting and ceiling solutions. The work done commands respect. The interiors are completely ready, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. This design is exactly what the school needs," said the head of the architectural studio Boris Uborevich-Borovsky.

Previously Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, reported that the renovated schools have begun open days. They will last until August 30. From Monday to Friday, they will be organized from 14:00 to 20:00, and on Saturday – from 10:00 to 16:00. Guests will also enjoy training with physical education teachers and lectures from specialists of the City Psychological and Pedagogical Center. To participate, you need pre-registration.

As part of the Moscow Mayor's My School program, educational spaces are becoming more modern and functional. The first four buildings opened after reconstruction on September 1, 2024. This year, 51 students will be welcomed on Knowledge Day renovated school.

Providing schools with modern high-tech equipment helps to optimize the educational process and meets the objectives of the project “All the best for children” of the national project "Youth and Children".
