BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — The Harbin/China-Primorsky Krai/Russia International Law Legal Services Symposium was held Saturday in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. Following the event, the first Northeast Asian International Lawyers' List was released, featuring 66 lawyers from both countries specializing in 12 areas, including cross-border investment, maritime affairs, foreign trade and intellectual property.

According to information from chinanews.com.cn, citing participants in the symposium, the list of lawyers reflects “professionalism” and “internationalism”: they include both qualified lawyers with extensive experience who are well acquainted with the Chinese and Russian legal systems, and young talented lawyers who specialize in their specific areas. It is expected that by fully implementing the complementary advantages, lawyers from the two countries will be able to effectively meet the diversified needs for legal services in the Northeast Asian region.

The Harbin/China-Primorsky Krai/Russia International Legal Services Symposium was organized by the Harbin Lawyers Association in cooperation with the Primorsky Krai Bar Association and the Primorsky Krai Lawyers Association. The purpose of the Symposium is to meet the needs for legal services related to international law within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, promote the integration and sharing of legal services in the Northeast Asian region, and advance the development of trade and economic contacts between China and Russia and other neighboring regions in the legal framework.

At the symposium, representatives of lawyers, chambers of commerce, business circles and higher education institutions from the two countries discussed current issues in the field of legal services related to international law and the possibilities for the future development of this area. -0-
