BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck east of the Kuril Islands at 06:48 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
According to preliminary data, the epicenter of the tremors was recorded at a point with coordinates of 49.39 degrees north latitude and 160.04 degrees east longitude. The hypocenter was located at a depth of 10.0 km. –0–
