KYIV, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — Ukrainian and American teams will meet at the end of this week to discuss the possibility of holding peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made this statement at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to V. Zelensky, later on Monday he will meet with the US President's special envoy Keith Kellogg to discuss this issue, and on August 27, talks between national security advisers will take place.
The Ukrainian leader noted that official Kyiv, together with its partners, is working on a basic plan for providing Ukraine with security guarantees. After that, the country would like to understand whether Moscow is ready to support the US proposal to hold first a bilateral and then a trilateral meeting, V. Zelensky added. –0–
