BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — China will be among the top three trading partners of 157 countries and regions by the end of 2024, Sun Meijun, director of the General Administration of Customs, said at a press conference on Monday.
According to the data she cited, in 2024, China's trade turnover with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative reached 22 trillion yuan (approximately 3 trillion US dollars), or more than 50 percent of the country's total import and export volume.
The average annual growth rate of trade turnover with emerging markets, including ASEAN, Latin America, Africa and Central Asia, has exceeded 10 percent since the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) in China, Sun Meijun noted.
