During his working visit to the Republic of Belarus, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko discussed with Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin issues of bilateral cooperation between the countries in the fields of science, education, youth policy, tourism and the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

The event took place in the Government House of the Republic of Belarus. It was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus Boris Gryzlov and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov.

Aleksandr Turchin conveyed words of gratitude to the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin and noted that the governments of Belarus and Russia are working intensively on many issues. He placed special emphasis on tourism.

"We are setting tourism as one of our country's development priorities for the next five years. Considering the large number of tourists from our countries who visit both Belarus and Russia every year, we can synchronize our efforts somewhere, exchange experience on tourism support products and development programs," said Alexander Turchin.

Dmitry Chernyshenko called the Republic of Belarus the closest ally and strategic partner of Russia.

"Our countries are connected by close, fraternal relations, a common centuries-old history, and cultural kinship. We share the same traditional values and principles of justice. I would like to convey words of gratitude to the President of Belarus, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. He recently said a phrase that resonated in the hearts of all Russians: "There is and cannot be anything closer to Belarus than Russia and the Russian people," the Russian Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

He added that the Union State is built on the basis of sovereign equality and consideration of common interests.

According to Dmitry Chernyshenko, the XII Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus was a highlight. More than 150 young leaders of the two countries discussed youth projects, the development of the volunteer movement, and exchanged best practices.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister noted the development of the tourism sector: "The mutual tourist flow is growing steadily. According to official statistics, last year there were about 670 thousand trips. In the first quarter of 2025 – more than 130 thousand. Growth – 6%."

He added that the tourist flow in Russia has been steadily growing since 2021. This is in line with the goal set by President Vladimir Putin and enshrined in the national project "Tourism and Hospitality" – to almost double the tourist flow.

“Of course, the governments of our countries must make every effort to realize the enormous tourism potential of the Union State,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He noted that every year the integration of the Union youth into the agenda of events in Russia and Belarus is increasing. Only through Rosmolodezh the number of their participants from the republic has increased several times over the past two years – up to 1250 people.

Cooperation between Russia and Belarus is actively developing within the framework of the formation of a single scientific and technological space of the Union State.

Since 2020, the government quota for the education of Belarusian citizens in Russia has been increased more than 5 times. Today, about 15 thousand students from Belarus study at Russian universities. Citizens of the Republic of Belarus have the right to enroll in budget places in Russian colleges on a general basis. In order to develop professional education, the Association of Colleges of Russia and Belarus was created.

Russian and Belarusian universities interact with each other within the framework of the Eurasian Network University and the CIS Network University.

Since 2021, on the instructions of President Vladimir Putin, Russia has been holding the International Financial Security Olympiad. In the 2025 final, Belarus will be represented by 10 winners of the national selection from leading universities.
