PYONGYANG, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) — North Korea test-fired two new types of anti-aircraft missiles on Saturday to check their technical characteristics. Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and chairman of the State Affairs Commission, watched the test, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Sunday.
The new anti-aircraft missile systems have excellent combat capabilities against various air targets such as attack drones and cruise missiles. Their operation and response modes were described as innovative, with pioneering and distinctive technology, KCNA reported, citing an assessment of the test launches conducted by the DPRK's General Rocket Development Department.
