BEIJING, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) — The third comprehensive rehearsal for celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War concluded in Beijing early Sunday, the press center for the celebrations said.
The rehearsal took place from 17:00 Saturday to 05:00 Sunday in Tiananmen Square.
The event organizers stated that this was a full-scale rehearsal of all processes and all elements, as well as the final comprehensive rehearsal of the festivities. It was aimed at checking the coordination between all processes and links, which laid a solid foundation for the success of the event.
All processes were organized in an orderly manner, transitions between them were smooth and uninterrupted, which made it possible to achieve the intended goals, the organizers added.
As previously reported, the ceremonial gathering, which will include a military parade, is scheduled for September 3 in Tiananmen Square in central Beijing. -0-
