Moscow, August 23 /Xinhua/ – A meeting of the UN Security Council (SC) on the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream pipeline will be held on August 26 at Russia's request. This was announced by Acting Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky on his Telegram channel on Saturday.
"In connection with the new information that has emerged about the detention of a suspect in organizing the terrorist attacks on Nord Stream in September 2022, Russia has requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council. We will draw attention to the delays in the German investigation and its lack of transparency for the Security Council. The Panamanian SC presidency has scheduled it for 16:00 New York time /23:00 Moscow time/ on August 26," he wrote.
According to TASS, Ukrainian Sergei Kuznetsov, suspected of involvement in the explosions of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, was detained in Italy on Thursday on a German warrant. The German Prosecutor General's Office claimed that the man "was part of a group of people who planted explosive devices on gas pipelines near the island of Bornholm in September 2022."
On September 26, 2022, unprecedented damage was recorded on three lines of Nord Stream and the never-commissioned Nord Stream 2. –0–
