XINING, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) — The people's government of northwest China's Qinghai Province has formed an investigation team after a fatal accident at a bridge construction site on Friday, the provincial emergency management department said.

As of 6 p.m. Friday, 12 people had been confirmed dead and four were still missing after steel cables snapped during tensioning work on a bridge under construction on the Qinghai section of the Sichuan-Qinghai Railway in Jainka County, Huangnan Tibet Autonomous Prefecture.
