BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) — A joint exhibition of artifacts from the collections of museums of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states will open at the National Museum of China (NMC), the NMC said on Friday.
It will reportedly be organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China with the active support of the SCO Secretariat.
The event will be entitled “Respect for the Diversity of Civilizations and the Pursuit of Common Development,” which is enshrined in the “Shanghai Spirit.” It will feature 220 rare artifacts /sets/ from the collections of 10 museum and cultural institutions of the SCO member states. The exhibition will include both symbolic artifacts reflecting the origin, development and evolution of ancient civilizations in the organization’s member states, and significant cultural monuments illustrating the historical interaction and interpenetration between different countries.
They vividly and vividly reflect the deep cultural traditions of the SCO member countries, and also realistically demonstrate the historical process of inter-civilizational dialogue, mutual learning and mutual influence between the SCO member countries through the Great Silk Road, the NMC noted. -0-
