BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) — The 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit will be held in the north Chinese city of Tianjin from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1. It will be the fifth SCO summit hosted by China and the largest such event since the organization's founding. Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin told a briefing for Chinese and foreign media on Friday that Chinese President Xi Jinping, along with more than 20 foreign leaders and 10 officials from international organizations, will gather on the banks of the Haihe River to review the SCO's successful experience, map out its development plan, consolidate the consensus of the SCO family on cooperation, and push the organization toward building a closer community with a shared future.
