BEIJING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) — The successful holding of the 15th China-Russia Culture and Art Fair has allowed us to feel the charm of Chinese and Russian cultures more deeply, and has strengthened our confidence in further cooperation and development, Mu Shanxue, deputy secretary-general of the people's government of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, said on Thursday.

According to information posted on the website of the Heihe city government (Heilongjiang province) on Thursday, the closing ceremony of the aforementioned fair was held in Blagoveshchensk on August 20, where Mu Shanxue noted that Heilongjiang province is ready to work together with Russian partners to strengthen the role of the China-Russia Culture and Art Fair as a link to promote mutual practical cooperation in broader areas. “We expect the 16th such fair to be even more exciting,” he stressed.

The 15th China-Russia Culture and Art Fair opened on July 26 in Heihe. It was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, the People's Government of Heilongjiang Province, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and the Government of the Amur Region. The fair's program included 47 events in 4 areas, including high-level mutual visits, cultural exchanges, presentation events, and the construction of a border cultural and tourism corridor.

These events have contributed to the integration of cultures, strengthening mutual understanding and trust, giving new impetus to the transmission of Chinese-Russian friendship from generation to generation, as well as the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the regions of the two countries.

As previously reported, even before the closing ceremony of the 15th China-Russia Culture and Art Fair, Heilongjiang Province organized a trip for delegations of folk craftsmen, actors, representatives of libraries and museums to Blagoveshchensk, where they conducted in-depth and intensive cultural exchanges with various circles of the public in this Russian city.

The China-Russia Culture and Art Fair, first held in 2010, has become an important link connecting Chinese and Russian culture and art, as well as an important brand promoting cultural cooperation and exchanges between China and Russia. -0-
