BEIJING, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) — China pays close attention to the current situation in Gaza and calls for effective mitigation of the humanitarian crisis in the region, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular ministry press conference on Wednesday.
“We hope that all parties will reach an agreement on a ceasefire as soon as possible and will contribute to a rapid de-escalation of the situation,” she said, answering a question about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
