BEIJING, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) — A cultural and artistic performance by teenagers from China and Russia was held in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, on Thursday. The event was part of the 3rd Heilongjiang China-Russia Regional Culture Festival.
The performance, under the theme of “mutual enrichment of civilizations,” was organized to promote mutual understanding between young people of the two countries and deepen their friendship through cultural and artistic exchanges, according to the provincial department of culture and tourism. In a cheerful and friendly atmosphere, young artists performed folk dances, folk melodies and songs.
The venue for the event was the Huayuanjie cultural and historical street quarter in Nangang District, and this choice was not made by chance. There are many hundred-year-old buildings in the Russian architectural style preserved here, and therefore this quarter was chosen as the venue for the event in order to demonstrate the historical appearance of the city and the cultural ties between China and Russia.
The 3rd China-Russia Regional Culture Festival in Heilongjiang Province officially kicked off on April 16, 2025. Over the course of three and a half months, more than 200 humanitarian and cultural events will be held, including concerts, pop performances, street shows and photo exhibitions on the theme of the image of regions on the Chinese-Russian border.
Among them, the event “Wall of Chinese-Russian Friendship”, a cultural and artistic performance by teenagers from China and Russia, a fashion show of China and Russia, and an evening screening of old films promise to be especially attractive.
The first such festival was held in Heilongjiang from June to September 2023. -0-
