BEIJING, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) — The finals of the China-Russia Teenage Science and Technology Innovation Competition were held in Fuyuan City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, on Friday.
According to the internet portal “chinahlj.cn”, the participants of the competition were divided into junior and middle school leagues with projects in the fields of physics and astronomy, computer science and information technology, engineering, ecology and other disciplines.
The competition venue was filled with a lively atmosphere, demonstrating the outstanding abilities of the youth of the two countries in the scientific and technical fields. Particularly noteworthy were the “Smart Home with New Energy Sources” with voice control technology and automatic sensors developed by students of the No. 2 Middle School in Tongjiang City, and the “V1.0 Rail Cleaning Robot” presented by students of the No. 4 School in Khabarovsk /Russia/, which can autonomously identify and remove obstacles on the rails.
