Moscow, August 18 /Xinhua/ — The Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation (RF) prevented a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge that was being prepared by the Ukrainian special services, the agency reported on Monday.

As noted by the FSB of the Russian Federation, a high-power explosive device was planted in a car that was to be driven by an unsuspecting suicide bomber. The explosive device was delivered to Russia from Ukraine in transit through a number of countries, and was directly imported to the Russian Federation from Georgia. All those involved in importing the bomb to Russia have been detained.

“This is the second attempt by Ukrainian special services in 2025 to use cars loaded with a large amount of explosives to sabotage the Crimean Bridge,” the FSB said. The agency recalled that in April, Belarusian customs officers detained a Mercedes with 580 kg of explosives on the border with Poland, which was intended to be delivered to Russia. –0–
