TIANJIN, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) — The opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan Studies Center was held at Tianjin Foreign Studies University on Friday, the university said on its public account on the Chinese social media platform WeChat.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to China Shakhrat Nuryshev attended the opening ceremony and expressed hope that this Center will become an important public diplomacy platform for promoting the history, language and culture of Kazakhstan.
The Kazakhstan Research Center will conduct research on Kazakhstan's history, culture, education, science and technology. The center has also hired renowned Chinese and foreign experts in Central Asian studies to form a team of consultants who will focus on cooperation between Tianjin and Kazakhstan and submit proposals for government decision-making.
Let us recall that other centers for Kazakhstan studies have been opened in China, for example, the Center for Kazakhstan Studies at Dalian University of Foreign Studies, as well as at Shanghai University of Foreign Studies and Beijing University of Foreign Studies. Such dynamics demonstrate the growing interest in Kazakhstan on the part of representatives of Chinese scientific circles and the public. -0-
