ISLAMABAD, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) — Flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains have killed at least 25 people, including women and children, and injured eight others in northern and northwestern Pakistan in the past 24 hours, Faizullah Faraq, spokesman for the northern Gilgit-Baltistan region, told Xinhua on Friday.

Six people, including a woman, were killed in landslides in Khalti village of Ghizer district, according to the report.

At least nine people were killed and four others injured in heavy rain in Jabarrai village of Bajaur agency in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, local police said.

Heavy rainfall destroyed a house and killed six members of a family in the Nasirabad area of Muzaffarabad district in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, local rescuers said.
