BEIJING, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) — The volume of fresh fruit and vegetable shipments from China through the Ereenhot checkpoint on the border with Mongolia has exceeded 2 billion yuan since the beginning of this year through Aug. 13, according to the official website of the Ereenhot city administration in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
During the reporting period, a total of 111 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables were exported from China via Ereenhot, including peppers, broccoli, cucumbers, apples, pears, watermelons, bananas, etc. Recently, about 20 refrigerated vans loaded with such goods pass through the checkpoint every day.
Ereenhot is the largest land checkpoint on China's border with Mongolia. As Sino-Mongolian interactions become more frequent, the "green corridor" at this border crossing plays a more important role in bilateral agricultural trade. -0-
