BEIJING, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) — Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Jiang Bin has called on the Philippines to immediately stop provocative words and actions infringing on China's sovereignty after several Philippine vessels illegally entered China's territorial waters off Huangyan Dao Island, creating a complicated and tense maritime situation.

Jiang Bin said the actions had seriously undermined China's sovereignty and interests, posed a serious threat to the safety of Chinese ship crews, and damaged peace and stability in the South China Sea. -0-
