Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, August 14 (Xinhua) — Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov received Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who arrived in the country on his first official visit, in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata on Thursday, the press service of the Kyrgyz leader reported.
As reported on the official website of the President of Kyrgyzstan, during the meeting, current issues of Kyrgyz-Russian relations, measures to increase trade turnover, prospects for investment cooperation, as well as the development of educational, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries were discussed.
As S. Japarov noted, active cooperation between the two countries continues within the framework of integration associations, primarily the EAEU, CIS, CSTO and SCO. He emphasized that in the context of modern challenges, further deepening of cooperation in these formats is becoming especially relevant. In this context, the President of Kyrgyzstan outlined the importance of the work of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which sets the tone for the development of integration processes within the EAEU.
M. Mishustin, in turn, noted that Russia remains one of the key foreign trade partners of Kyrgyzstan, where 1,700 Russian companies currently operate. He also noted that effective interaction within the EAEU contributes to the growth of the economies of the two countries, opens up new opportunities for business and strengthens integration in the Eurasian space, laying a solid foundation for the further development of bilateral relations. –0–
