Moscow, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) — Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with members of Russia's top leadership, government officials and the presidential administration in preparation for a meeting with his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump.
Opening the meeting, the Russian President noted that he intends to inform about how the negotiation process on the Ukrainian crisis is progressing.
“And secondly, to talk about the stage we are at with today’s American administration, which, as everyone knows, is making, in my opinion, quite energetic and sincere efforts to stop the hostilities, stop the crisis and reach agreements that are of interest to all parties involved in this conflict, in order to create long-term conditions of peace between our countries, and in Europe, and in the world as a whole – if by the next stages we reach agreements in the area of control over strategic offensive weapons,” the Kremlin’s official website quotes the Russian leader as saying.
The meeting of the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, V. Putin and D. Trump, will take place on August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska. –0–
