BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — China supports all efforts to promote peaceful resolution of crises and is pleased to see Russia and the United States maintain contacts to improve relations and promote progress in the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Tuesday, commenting on the country's position on the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin scheduled for Aug. 15.
China hopes that all parties involved and interested can join the peace talks at an appropriate time to reach a fair, long-term, binding and all-acceptable peace agreement as soon as possible, the diplomat summed up at a regular departmental press conference. -0-
