HARBIN, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — An international forest half marathon was recently held in the city of Hegang, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, in which 10 Russian runners took part, according to a statement posted on the official website of the Hegang City People's Government.

More than 6,000 runners from seven countries, including Russia, the United States, France, Vietnam and Kenya, came together to compete on a picturesque route along an ecological corridor, enjoying the coolness of local forests and admiring the sights.

The 21.0975 km half marathon route was filled with the delicious aroma of local delicacies – dumplings, kebabs and other treats that were constantly being served to the runners. At the finish line, Chinese and foreign runners happily took pictures near the specially installed original arches in the form of barbecues and giant ice bowls with frozen pears.

The top places among men and women were taken by runners from Kenya and Zhejiang Province (East China), respectively. -0-
