LANZHOU, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — Fifteen people have been killed and 28 others are missing in a mountain torrent in Yuzhong County of northwest China's Gansu Province as of Monday afternoon, the provincial emergency management department said Tuesday.

It was reported that from the evening of August 7 to the morning of August 8, Yuzhong County and other areas of Lanzhou City, the capital of Gansu Province, were hit by incessant heavy rains, which led to the collapse of mountain torrents.
