Moscow, August 12 /Xinhua/ — The share of young people among those detained for terrorist crimes in Russia has reached 65 percent, Chairman of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) of the Russian Federation and Director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov reported on Tuesday.
“The most susceptible to involvement in terrorist activity are young people, whose share in the total number of detainees has reached 65 percent,” said A. Bortnikov at the opening of the NAC meeting, which considered issues of implementing the comprehensive plan to counter the ideology of terrorism, approved by Russian President V. Putin.
According to the head of the FSB, in 2025, there was an increase in terrorist crimes committed by persons who fell under the influence of the Ukrainian special services. There is also a steady trend of an increase in the number of terrorist attacks carried out by minors.
According to the NAC of the Russian Federation, since the beginning of the year, over 290 migrants have been detained in Russia and their preparation of 18 terrorist attacks in places of mass gatherings of people has been prevented. –0–
