Baku, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan held a telephone conversation on Tuesday dedicated to the implementation of the Joint Declaration signed in Washington in early August, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

During the conversation, the parties focused on promoting confidence-building measures and discussing key regional issues, confirming their readiness to continue direct dialogue aimed at strengthening peace.

The conversation took place after a trilateral meeting on August 8 in Washington, where Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US President Donald Trump signed a Joint Declaration following the summit. On the same day, D. Bayramov and A. Mirzoyan initialed a draft agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations, and also jointly appealed to the Chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) with a request to terminate the OSCE Minsk process. –0–
