BUDAPEST, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto on Monday reiterated Hungary's position that the Russia-Ukraine conflict should be resolved through diplomatic means rather than military confrontation.
He wrote about this on his Facebook page, emphasizing that Hungary consistently advocates for a ceasefire and diplomatic dialogue.
Hungary is looking forward to the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin scheduled for August 15 in Alaska, he said, viewing it as a potential step towards peace.
He also noted that he discussed the upcoming event during a telephone conversation with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. –0–
