BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) — In the first seven months of 2025, trade between the China-SCO Regional Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "China-SCO Demonstration Zone"), located in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, and other member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) totaled 53.26 billion yuan (about 7.41 billion U.S. dollars), up 26.1 percent year on year, China Central Television reported, citing customs statistics.
In particular, during the reporting period, exports from the China-SCO Demonstration Zone to other SCO member states amounted to 26.88 billion yuan, an increase of 21.5 percent, while imports into it grew by 31 percent to 26.38 billion yuan in value terms.
At the same time, the value of exports from the specified zone of electromechanical products, such as refrigerators and washing machines, increased by 13.8 percent, and textiles and clothing products by 27.6 percent.
At the same time, the China-SCO Demonstration Zone has been actively expanding its range of imported goods, providing a variety of food on the dinner tables of Chinese residents with supplies of seafood, dried fruits, dairy products and other products from various regions of the world. In particular, during the same period, the value of imported frozen cod, dried hot peppers and other agricultural and food products exceeded 8 billion yuan, an increase of 14.7 percent year on year. -0-
