Moscow, August 11 (Xinhua) — Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation, the Kremlin press service reported on Monday.
N. Pashinyan informed the Russian president in detail about the results of his meeting with the leaders of the United States and Azerbaijan, Donald Trump and Ilham Aliyev, in Washington.
V. Putin, for his part, confirmed the Russian side’s readiness to facilitate the comprehensive normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, including the unblocking of transport communications in the region, the Kremlin website notes.
The Russian President also told N. Pashinyan about the results of the conversation with the US President's Special Envoy Steven Witkoff and about preparations for the meeting with D. Trump in Alaska. The head of the Armenian government welcomed the steps towards a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
In addition, the leaders of Russia and Armenia also discussed the development of bilateral trade and investment cooperation and interaction within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
On August 8, following a trilateral meeting with US President D. Trump in Washington, Azerbaijani President I. Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister N.
