Polytechnicians at the Oil and Gas Forum in Almetyevsk: Six-day intensive professional development

Third-year bachelor's students of the Higher School of Industrial Management of IPMEiT Elena Muravyova, Sanam Yasynova and Ksenia Borodina represented Polytechnic at the VI International Oil and Gas Youth Forum in Almetyevsk (Republic of Tatarstan). The girls are studying in the direction of "Oil and Gas Enterprise Management" and passed a serious competitive selection to participate in the forum organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and PJSC Tatneft. The event was held at the Higher School of Oil.

The forum brought together hundreds of students, young professionals and experts to solve the problems of the energy sector of the future. The central event was the "Hackathon of the Fuel and Energy Complex Development-2050", where teams participated in the development of innovative solutions for technological leadership of the Russian oil and gas industry.

For young polytechnics, the forum became an intensive six-day school of professional growth. The students solved complex practical cases, attended master classes by leading industry experts, honed their soft skills at special trainings, where special attention was paid to public speaking, creative thinking, the use of artificial intelligence and the art of presenting ideas, participated in business games, practicing teamwork and strategic planning skills.

Divided into teams, all hackathon participants solved business cases reflecting the real challenges of the oil and gas industry, and then defended them before an expert jury.

The forum also provided students with unique opportunities for networking and professional development. Sanam Yasynova showed herself brilliantly at the training dedicated to artificial intelligence "AI for work and life: what can we trust algorithms with?" Ksenia Borodina actively participated in the master class "Creative Thinking".

Elena Muravyova attended several master classes during the job fair "Tatneft – Digital Development".

"For me, the most memorable experience at the forum was practicing English," Elena shared. "There was a foreign geologist on my team, and I took on the responsibility of being his translator. I wouldn't say it was easy, since he used professional slang, but my knowledge was enough for good communication."

In addition to the educational intensive, a tour of the open-air Oil Museum in the village of Shugurovo in the Leninogorsk region of Tatarstan was organized for the forum participants.

"The forum opened up new opportunities for us," the students shared. "We were able to meet the heads of Tatneft, and they gave us valuable advice for career development. We thank Polytech for facilitating our participation in such a large-scale event!"

The participation of Elena, Sanam and Ksenia in the forum not only enriched their professional background and expanded their career horizons, but also demonstrated the quality of training of specialists at the university. Their experience will inspire other students to actively participate in industry events that open the way to a successful career.
