On August 9, the State University of Management took part in a sports procession on the Central Alley of VDNKh, dedicated to the Day of Physical Culture.
The event brought together more than 3,000 people — athletes, physical education teachers, active families and everyone who leads a healthy lifestyle. One of the main missions of the procession is to revive the tradition of sports parades and strengthen the mass movement for health.
Our university was represented in the sports festival by Maxim Levin, a specialist of the Student Sports Club and head of the eSports department. At the procession, he represented not only GUU, but also the Russian Federation of Computer Sports. His participation emphasized that new sports and eSports are organically included in the all-Russian movement for a healthy lifestyle.
"The event is important not only as a mass action in support of a healthy lifestyle, but also as a platform for strengthening ties within the sports community: professional athletes, federation leaders and representatives of different generations meet here, which clearly demonstrates the popularity of both traditional sports and eSports. For delegation members, the march is an opportunity to establish professional contacts, exchange experiences and draw attention to their disciplines; for the development of sports in the country as a whole, this is a step towards reviving the mass movement and raising its status," Maxim noted.
The event was also attended by Olympic and Paralympic champions, representatives of sports federations and public associations, employees of state corporations, physical education teachers, holders of the GTO badge, participants in the special military operation and pensioners.
The organizer of the procession was the All-Russian public movement "Healthy Fatherland" with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and VDNKh.
SUM does not miss significant events that shape public understanding of sports and service to the Fatherland. We are confident: by supporting sports at all levels, we contribute to the future of the country and the well-being of our citizens!
