Almaty, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) — A joint exercise of border and other departments of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states was held at the Koktal training ground of the Kazakh armed forces in the southeast of the country on August 6-7, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported on Monday.
Representatives of the border agencies of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, as well as the coordination service of the Council of Commanders of Border Troops (CCBT) of the CIS member states took part in the exercises, codenamed “Kanjar-2025”.
The units of these departments are included in the List of formations for inclusion in the group of border and other departments of the CIS member states sent to resolve a crisis situation on the external borders.
“The border guards of the Commonwealth states trained in organizing and conducting a joint border operation to search for and eliminate sabotage and reconnaissance groups and illegal armed formations during a period of aggravation of the military-political situation,” the press service of the Executive Committee reported. –0–
