AMMAN, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) — Jordan will host a trilateral meeting between Syria and the United States on Aug. 12 to discuss the situation in Syria, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said Sunday.
As noted in the statement by the department, the meeting will discuss ways to facilitate the restoration of Syria based on ensuring security, stability and sovereignty.
According to the statement, the meeting will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the transitional government of Syria Asaad Hassan al-Shibani, the US Ambassador to Turkey and US Special Envoy for Syria Thomas Barrack, as well as representatives of relevant departments of the three countries.
The talks will be a continuation of the meeting that took place on July 19 in Amman and was dedicated to securing the ceasefire in the province of As-Suwayda in southern Syria and resolving the crisis in the region.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi will also hold separate talks with A. H. al-Shibani and T. Barrak, the statement said. –0–
