KYIV, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) — Ukraine does not intend to give up its territory to Russia in exchange for peace, as this contradicts the country's constitution, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram on Saturday.
According to him, official Kyiv is ready for real decisions that will allow ending the armed conflict with the Russian Federation. Meanwhile, any decisions directed against Ukraine or taken without its participation will be directed against peace and will not produce results, V. Zelensky emphasized.
He added that Ukraine intends to work with the United States and other partners to achieve a real and long-term ceasefire.
Earlier on Saturday, the Interfax-Ukraine agency reported that a meeting between US and Russian Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin is scheduled to take place in Alaska on August 15. The leaders will discuss ways to end the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict. –0–
